Bates Mill opens 48 downtown Lewiston apartments
A 48-apartment redevelopment at Lewiston's Bates Mill had its first four tenants scheduled to move in today.
The Sun Journal reported that The Lofts at Bates Mill opened today with 18 tenants scheduled to move in over the next two weeks. In total, tenants have signed up for 32 of the new complex's 48 units.
The project, which was proposed in 2010 by Portland developer Szanton Co., is the first residential redevelopment of the former mill. The complex offers one- two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Fair market rent for one-bedroom units in the complex start at $640, the paper reported, and three-bedroom units start at $896.
