Beacon offers pro-bono consulting services

A Portland consulting firm that typically focuses on Fortune 500 clients this fall will launch a new pro-bono program offering one or two selected businesses in Maine growth strategy services.

The Beacon Group, at 7 Custom House St., will accept applications through the end of September from companies that can't afford consulting support for its Grow Maine Business Program, according to a press release. In particular, Beacon Group is looking for "innovative Maine-based technology companies that lack formal growth strategies and tactics for their business," it says in the release, including organizations in health care and life sciences, technology, industrial technology, energy, government, defense and homeland security.

"Beacon's intent in launching the Grow Maine Business Program is to give back to the emerging business community and to help drive growth in the Maine economy," the company says.
