Brunswick firm plans $2.6M expansion

Providence Services Corp., a child health- and behavioral-services company, has received $2.6 million in financing to expand its Brunswick Landing location.

The Forecaster reported that Providence plans to renovate a former bowling alley next to its 62 Pegasus St. location that will allow 60 employees to relocate there. The move into the 9,000 square-foot space will increase the company’s total workforce to 150.

Providence secured the $2.6 million from U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corp., a subsidiary of U.S. Bank, through the Finance Authority of Maine’s New Markets Capital Investment Program. The bank subsidiary has received $41.6 million for the program, which allows businesses to claim state tax credits for up to $20 million per year.
