C&L Aerospace sells four Saab aircraft

Bangor-based C&L Aerospace has sold four Saab 340 aircraft to Seaborne Airlines, which is based in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The sale leaves the Bangor airplane maintenance and repair firm with 14 planes owned by Pinnacle Airlines that C&L is marketing for sale or lease. Before the planes head to the Virgin Islands, the company said in a press release that the aircraft will undergo maintenance work in Bangor.

CEO Chris Kilgour told Mainebiz in a previous interview he expects aircraft marketing services to complement the company’s maintenance and repair operations, as the buyers will often need work done on the planes before they are delivered.

Early next year, the company plans to complete an expansion to double its space at the Bangor International Airport and add a new paint hangar, in an effort to diversify its services.
