Gardiner gets $305K in brownfields funding to clean up T.W. Dick site

The city of Gardiner will get a $305,000 brownfields grant for remediation work on the former site of steel products-maker T.W. Dick Co. on Summer Street to make way for a planned MaineGeneral medical facility.

The Kennebec Journal said the funding is one of the most critical pieces in redeveloping the blighted T.W. Dick site.

Gardiner city officials now have enough brownfield cleanup money to start remediation work on the site, and expect to complete it by next summer. That’s in keeping with the June 2017 deadline for the proposed construction project, the newspaper said.
