Heritage Policy Center names new CEO

Maine Heritage Policy Center Chief Economist J. Scott Moody has been named the think tank's new CEO, replacing Lance Dutson, who recently resigned to work for Secretary of State Charlie Summers' U.S. Senate campaign.

Moody has worked for MHPC for six years, directing its studies in tax and regulatory policy, according to a press release. He has a strong background in policy, according to MHPC Chairman Peter Anania. "MHPC's board, our staff and our many supporters across the state look forward to working with him to advance our common interests in free markets and a free society," Anania said in a release. Moody will be moving to Maine from his home in northern New Hampshire.

MHPC conducts policy research, convenes conferences, publishes the Internet news service The Maine Wire and promotes public policy in support of fiscal transparency and limited government.
