HUD awards $375K in funding for 12 Maine housing developments

Twelve multifamily housing developments for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Maine will receive almost $375,000 in funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Service Coordinator Program.

“Service coordinators provide invaluable assistance to seniors and individuals with disabilities by helping to promote financial security, social connections and the delivery of community support services,” U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said in a news release announcing the awards. “The funding awarded to these 12 Maine housing developments today will allow service coordinators to continue their vital function and enhance residents’ quality of life.”

Collins is chairwoman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee.

Recipients and their portion of the $374,400 in total funding are:

  • Carpenter Preservation of South Portland, $7,327
  • Harbor View Housing Associates of Augusta, $18,690
  • Lucky Star Housing Associates of Portland, $24,493
  • Louis Barrett Residence of Portland, $4,898
  • NHP Housing Associates of South Portland, $24,950
  • One Madison Avenue Association of Augusta, $19,991
  • Pineview Preservation of South Portland, $50,289
  • Spartina of South Portland, $87,430
  • The Seven-Fifty of South Portland, $45,086
  • Wonderland Ltd. Housing Association of South Portland, $37,823
  • Waters Tower of South Portland, $52,165.
