New hires

Bangor Savings Bank hired Coney Quinn as assistant vice president and branch manager in Old Town, Ashley Muncey as a mortgage development officer based in Portland and serving central and southern Maine and David White as assistant vice president and branch manager in Camden. Quinn was previously branch manager and lead customer associate at People's United Bank in Bangor, Muncey was with Bank of America and White was an assistant branch manager and banking center manager at Camden National Bank.

The Maine Department of Labor in Augusta hired Hancock Fenton as chief hearing officer and director of the Division of Administrative Hearings in the Bureau of Unemployment Compensation. Fenton most recently served as deputy counsel and advised Gov. Paul R. LePage on matters relating to the departments of Public Safety and Corrections.

Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Lewiston hired Patricia Zabell as chief clinical officer. Zabell has more than 24 years of health care experience.

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution hired Tammy Tracy as a business banking office supervisor at its Portland Business Banking Office, Chad Boucher as a financial operations manager and Brett Cragg as a senior network support specialist. Tracy previously worked as an assistant branch manager and direct lending specialist for the New England Region with NBT Bank, Boucher was a financial analyst at TDBank and Cragg has more than 14 years of experience working in IT with various companies.

The Republican National Committee hired Joe Turcotte as its state director in Maine. Turcotte was the political director for the Maine Republican Party.

MaineGeneral's Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta hired Byung Kim and Rachit Kumar as members of its medical oncology department. Kim recently completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, R.I., while Kumar completed a hematology-oncology fellowship at Georgetown University/MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

WinterKids, a nonprofit in Portland that encourages outdoor winter activity for children, hired Mary-Theresa Tringale as manager of special events and sponsorships. Tringale is president of the board for the Maine Women's Conference and an events management consultant for various greater Portland events.

The Maine Small Business Development Centers, a statewide program that helps entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses, hired Shannon Byers as business advisor in its Bangor office located at Coastal Enterprises Inc.

Townsend Real Estate in Cape Elizabeth hired Mary Roy and Kate Kerkam as sales agents.

Foothills Management, a property management company in Farmington, hired Nicole Mathieu as bookkeeper. Mathieu was previously a bookkeeper for Intercoastal Concrete and Waterproofing in Freedom.

CBRE|The Boulos Co. hired Nick Lucas as an associate. Lucas was previously a history teacher and assistant dean at Hyde School in Bath.

U.S. Cellular hired Kerry Grover as administrative coordinator for the area sales managers for company-owned store locations in New England. Grover has more than 10 years of wireless experience.

MMG Insurance Co. in Presque Isle hired Derek Hochradel as vice president of commercial lines. Hochradel has more than 20 years of experience in middle market commercial lines management and underwriting.

The Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services hired Barrett Fisher as veteran service officer at its new Veterans' Services Office at 14 Access Highway, Suite 5, in Caribou. Fisher was previously with the Military Family Assistance Center in Caribou.

The Maine State Building & Construction Trades Council hired Jason Shedlock as executive director. Shedlock was most recently special assistant to Portland Mayor Ethan K. Strimling as well as the deputy director of the Sagadahoc County Emergency Management Agency and Board of Health.

EMHS in Brewer promoted Scott Oxley to EMHS senior vice president and president of Acadia Hospital. Oxley was previously vice president and COO for Acadia Hospital.

Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor hired Mamatha Sirivol as a provider at EMMC Family Medicine in Hampden.

Maine Quality Counts, an independent, multi- stakeholder alliance in Manchester working to transform health and health care, hired Larry Clifford as executive director. Clifford was most recently chief planning and development officer for Penobscot Community Health Care.

Bernstein Shur, a law firm in Portland, hired Joel Shaw as practice group leader of the firm's business law practice group. Shaw, a former state securities regulator, has expertise in federal and state securities laws and counsels operating companies and private investment funds on corporate structure and governance, capital raising activities and compliance.

Hardy Girls Healthy Women in Waterville hired Sarah Lentz as program coordinator and Sarah Nichols as administrative and program assistant. Lentz previously worked for SummerSearch and Maine Teen Camp. Nichols also works at the Maine Women's Policy Center and Mabel Wadsworth Center.

Promotions

U.S. Cellular promoted Jefferson Herman to sales manager in Westbrook, Adam Lerette to sales manager in Farmington, Sarah Grinnell-McNeal to sales manager in South Portland, Steven Paquette to sales manager in Augusta and Colin Atwood to sales manager in Scarborough. Herman most recently served as sales manager in Scarborough, Lerette was a retail wireless consultant in Augusta, Grinnell-McNeal was sales manager in Westbrook, Paquette was a retail wireless consultant in Topsham and Atwood was sales manager in South Portland.

Sebago Technics, an engineering consulting firm in South Portland, promoted Bradley Lyon to director of transportation services and Brian Farrell to CAD/IT support coordinator.

The Acadia School of Traditional Music & Arts in Bar Harbor promoted Jennifer Torrance to executive director. Torrance was director of marketing.

Day One, an agency in South Portland dedicated to addressing substance use and mental health needs among kids and young adults, promoted Joanne Grant to director of residential services at its three residential locations, Christine Grant to director of corrections services and clinical training at Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, Sharon Martel to accounting manager and Kristen Cianelli to program manager in Hollis and Buxton.

Gov. Paul R. LePage promoted Sean Ingram to senior policy advisor and Andrew Bracy to legislative policy coordinator within the Office of the Governor. Ingram was legislative policy coordinator while Bracy was deputy director of boards and commissions.

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution promoted Karyn Labrie to compliance specialist. Labrie is an officer who previously served as deposit support officer.

Burns & McDonnell, an engineering design firm in Portland, promoted Earle Cianchette to branch office manager. Cianchette was previously a senior project manager.

Appointments

Gov. Paul R. LePage selected Alec Porteous as commissioner of the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services. Porteous was COO and CFO for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Schoodic Institute in Winter Harbor added David Ellwood and Gary Machlis to its board of directors. Ellwood is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Science, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a senior research affiliate of the National Poverty Center at University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, while Machlis is a professor of environmental sustainability at Clemson University in South Carolina.

WinterKids, a nonprofit in Portland that encourages children to develop healthy lifelong habits through outdoor winter activity, added Seth Coburn, Sarah Long and Jeff Zachau to its board of directors. Coburn is an associate attorney at Verrill Dana LLP, Long is a meteorologist at WMTW and owner of Long's Board Shop and Zachau is president of Zachau Construction. The organization also announced its officers for fiscal year 2018: Erin Brennan, president, risk management, TD Bank, president; Joe O'Neil, owner, Portland Pie Co. Brunswick Restaurant, vice president; Lisa Trundy-Whitten, senior manager, BerryDunn, treasurer; Julie Mulkern, executive director, WinterKids, secretary; and Will Stiles, attorney, Verrill Dana, past president.

Roger Milliken joined the board of directors of the Northern Forest Center in Concord, N.H. Milliken is the president and CEO of the Baskahegan Co., a forestry services company in Brookton.

ReVision Energy in Portland was ranked the No. 1 rooftop solar contractor in New England and No. 14 nationwide by Solar Power World magazine.

Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution said John Mondor received his Certified Financial Marketing Professional certification from the American Bankers Association. Mondor is marketing officer at the Bank.

Lou Jacobs of Perinatal & Pediatric Chiropractic of Maine in Portland earned certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics in the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association's certification program.

Verrill Dana, a law firm in Portland, said partner Sara Hirshon was named to Benchmark Litigation's second annual “Under 40 Hot List,” honoring achievements of the nation's most notable up-and-coming litigation attorneys. Hirshon is a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial and Intellectual Property & Technology Groups.
