Maine gets $4.85M for workforce training

The state is receiving $4.85 million in federal funds to provide workforce training for Mainers who have been put out of work in high-demand industries.

The Job-Driven National Emergency Grant funds come from the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins announced today.

“For too many unemployed individuals in Maine, the struggle to find a new job is all too real,” the senators said in a joint statement. “By building on existing efforts to train and assist unemployed people in Maine, this grant funding will go a long way in smoothing the often tumultuous transition back into the workforce.”
