Mobile shower startup to aid perspiring cyclists

The coordinator of BikeMaine, one of the state’s largest trekking events, is starting a company to give cyclists a way to shower after finishing a long ride.

The Forecaster reported that Zach Schmesser started New England Mobile Showers to address cyclists who would like to take showers at large trekking events. He told the newspaper the company will begin renting out its 39-foot, 16-shower trailer with a 600-gallon water tank to events this summer, with BikeMaine being the first one.

Schmesser told The Forecaster the mobile shower trailer could be used for non-cycling events, including when companies need to work on lengthy projects. The company's start-up costs, expected to cost between $80,000 and $90,000, has been assisted with a $4,500 grant from the Libra Future Fund.
