The inpatient unit will be expanded by about 13,000 square feet, and the entire hospital will be expanded by about 33,000 square feet. It will also spend $2.5 million upgrading its utilities and physical plant. Construction is expected to start in June and be completed by the fall of 2013.

The Pittsfield Planning Board recently approved its site plan application, and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection has issued all permits needed.
