Portland named by TripAdvisor as a top destination
Travel website TripAdvisor has named Portland one of its top 10 destinations on the rise in the United States.
Portland ranked ninth on the list, which is compiled by surveying TripAdvisor users for feedback and ranking the greatest year-over-year increase in positive feedback and interest.
“This award is so significant because it not only celebrates our member businesses and greater Portland as a whole, but because it comes directly from our visitors,” said Lynn Tillotson, president and CEO of the Greater Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau, in a release Wednesday.
In the list’s description of Portland, TripAdvisor’s recommendations include exploring the Old Port, visiting Portland Head Light and taking a ferry to the islands in Casco Bay.
