Saco plant gets $14M contract modification
A General Dynamics plant in Saco has scored a $14.3 million contract modification to produce 3,000 machine gun barrel kits for the U.S. Army.
U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King announced the award Thursday for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products. The company has now received over $42 million in contract awards for the production of its .50 caliber machine gun barrel kits.
In October 2012, the company received a $28 million deal to produce machine guns to be mounted on Humvee armored transports and 6,000 of its machine gun barrel kits.
