Tim Hortons closes six restaurants in Maine

Updated: The Canadian restaurant chain Tim Hortons has closed six of its restaurants in the state.

The Bangor Daily News reported the number of employees affected and whether they would receive severance packages was unknown after the paper confirmed the restaurant recently closed its restaurants in Augusta, Portland, Skowhegan, Lewiston and Rockland. The Portland Press Herald reported the restaurant chain has also closed its Brunswick store.

Brynn Burton, public relations manager for Tim Hortons, told the paper the closures come through the regular course of business and are based on “a number of factors.”
