United Airlines to return to Bangor airport

United Airlines plans to return to the Bangor International Airport in June, providing a nonstop seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The Bangor Daily News reported the airline will operate out of Bangor from June 5 to Dec. 2, with a 1:10 p.m. flight from Chicago to Bangor and a 5:15 p.m. flight from Bangor to Chicago. From July 1 to Aug. 31, the airline will run another flight to Bangor at 7 p.m. with a return flight to Chicago at 6:45 a.m. the next morning. Round-trip fares ranged from $400 to $500 Monday on the airline’s website, the newspaper reported.

The flights will use a Bombardier CRJ700 jet, which can hold 70 passengers. The airline last operated out of Bangor in 1993; it offered a Bangor-to-Chicago flight for about 10 years.
