Waterville-based Mt. St. Joseph under new governance

West Hartford's The Mercy Community has assumed governance of a fellow Maine health ministry, Mount St. Joseph Residence and Rehabilitation.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Under the pact, effective July 1, Mount St. Joseph will be governed by The Mercy Community's Life Plan Community.

Mount St. Joseph had been operating under a management contract with Michigan-based Trinity Senior Living Communities since April 2012, said The Mercy Community's President and CEO William J. Fiocchetta.

Both Mercy and Mount St. Joseph are Trinity members.

"We share a passion for the missions of each of our community's founding sisters, and we will demonstrate that in the way we deliver care," Fiocchetta said in a statement.

The Mercy Community campus includes the skilled nursing facility St. Mary Home; the independent and assisted living community at The McAuley; and the 97-unit residential-care home, Frances Warde Towers Apartments.
