MEREDA names new president

Commercial real estate banker Thomas Lea has been named the new president of the Maine Real Estate and Development Association.

Lea is senior vice president and group manager of commercial real estate at Maine Bank and Trust, a division of Connecticut-based Peoples United Bank, according to a press release from MEREDA. Lea succeeds Raymond Cota Jr., vice president of Webber Oil Co. in Bangor, who held the position for the past two years. Lea, a Bowdoin and University of Southern Maine graduate, has served on MEREDA's board of directors for 20 years. He lives in Cumberland.

MEREDA is a statewide organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and other real estate service providers.
