Security startup coming to BNAS

A third major company has announced its intention to locate at the redeveloped Brunswick Naval Air Station, creating more than 150 jobs.

Information technology startup Resilient Communications Corp. today said it plans to establish its headquarters on base property, according to a press release from the company. Resilient intends to establish a secure data center, disaster recovery center and a composites manufacturing facility that will make network communications and data center platforms. The company has reached an agreement with the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, the group organizing BNAS's civilian reuse, to locate in two existing properties as early as the first quarter of 2011, before the base is decommissioned in May, according to the release. Charles Largay, a Bath native and former IBM executive, founded the cyber-security company two years ago, according to The Times Record.

In July, aircraft manufacturer Kestrel Aircraft Co. announced its plans to locate at the base, which will be renamed Brunswick Landing, and create 300 jobs, and medical products manufacturer Molnlycke Health Care in October said it plans to open a $12 million facility and create about 100 jobs.
