Portland Jetport sets six-month record
The Portland International Jetport set a new six-month record for passenger counts between May and October this year.
Jetport officials told the Portland Press Herald that they expect to finish the year strong, and without poor weather last winter, the airport would have set a record for all of 2015.
The city-owned airport is also benefitting from a new nonstop service to Florida provided by Elite Airways. The Portland-based airline will begin on Dec. 18 offering twice weekly service between Portland and Melbourne International Airport in Florida. Elite Airways has already added six additional flights around the holidays because some of the flights are sold out, the company’s president told the Press Herald.
