Looking to travel to some of the most fancy places? Well, look no further because Maine's Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport and Portland have recently been ranked among the nation's 10 priciest summer destinations.
A new analysis from CheapHotels, an online hotel booking website, compared accommodation rates across all U.S. destinations for August 2025. Only hotels or inns rated at least three stars and located close to a beach or city center were considered.
Kennebunkport ranked No. 6, with an average nightly rate of $387 for the cheapest available double room. Bar Harbor came in at No. 7, with an average nightly rate of $374. Portland ranked No. 10 with an average nightly rate of $364.
New England was well represented on the list.
Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts topped the list, with average rates of $621 and $532 per night, respectively, for the least expensive double room.
Provincetown, Mass., and Burlington, Vt., also made the top 10.
