More Information

Significant professional accomplishment: The enactment of LD 906, which provided critical financial support to a Washington County water district and amended the Maine Indian Claims Settlement Act to restore the Passamaquoddy Tribe’s ability to regulate drinking water within its territory.

Passion project: Lacrosse has been a major influence in my life. After major knee injuries while playing lacrosse in college, I began to focus my lacrosse driven energy on the reintroduction of the game in indigenous communities, where the game originated. In 2018, I started an annual Wabanaki youth lacrosse festival, which just had its fourth annual event and rotates among the Wabanaki communities here in Maine. I also serve on the executive committee for the 4 the Future Foundation (4TFF), a nonprofit that “inspires youth by encouraging the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle while promoting the attributes of the student-athlete and a call for generational leadership.” Our focus at 4TFF is on creating and supporting lacrosse programs for indigenous and underserved communities where sport meets culture, to create community-based opportunities that provide a pathway for the success of future generations.

Audacious goal: I want to retire by 65.

Favorite quote: “The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

Influential book: “Custer Died for Your Sins,” by Vine Deloria Jr.

Favorite movies/TV shows: FX’s “Reservation Dogs, “Forrest Gump”

How do you recharge: I head to the beach for a relaxing time with my family.
