Brunswick airport gets $1.1M for aviation terminal

The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority will get $1.1 million in federal funds to turn a former Navy Air Operations Center into a general aviation terminal.

U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree announced that terminal would include passenger waiting space and a facility for a fixed-base operator that would sell fuel, provide aircraft maintenance and other services. Pingree said the funds will help the redevelopment authority transition the former naval base air strip into a general aviation airport.
