Camden National lays off 45

Camden National Corporation says it is eliminating 45 positions now that it has completed its acquisition of Union Bankshares Co., the parent company of Union Trust Co., the Ellsworth American reported.

Suzanne Brightbill, a spokesperson for Camden National, told the newspaper the cuts are primarily in administration. She said the bank is inviting those employees who lost their jobs to apply for 25 vacant positions left unfilled before the merger.
