Developer proposes mall for Portland

A mall that would include a Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant, Dunkin' Donuts and possibly a national retailer has been proposed for Portland's Bayside neighborhood.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Portland-based Northland Enterprises has proposed the 5,800-square-foot development at 45 Marginal Way, the site of a former Century Tire store. An unnamed national retailer has expressed interest in being the mall's third tenant. A formal plan has not been submitted to the city yet.

Joseph Porta, a real estate broker for The Boulos Co. who is marketing the proposed development, told the newspaper that the site's visibility from Interstate 295, Forest Avenue and Marginal Way, combined with high-traffic volume in the area, will give the businesses “prime-time exposure.” He added, “we are trying to create a premium retail product.”
