Ellsworth awarded $300K Community Development Block Grant

The city of Ellsworth will receive $300,000 from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development via the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development that can be used to assist homeowners and landlords to make improvements in a section of the city’s urban core.

According to a release from the city, the improvements include, but are not limited to, replacement of deteriorated steps, doors, windows, porches, railings, roofs, chimneys, foundations, siding, insulation and heating upgrades.
