Guv shakes up staff

Gov. John Baldacci has promoted David Farmer, his former director of communications, to deputy chief of staff.

Farmer replaces Ryan Low, who is now commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services. As deputy chief of staff, Farmer will be Gov. Baldacci’s liaison to the Finance Authority of Maine, MaineHousing and the Maine Municipal Bond Bank, according to a press release from the governor’s office. Farmer has served as director of communications since January 2007, and was a reporter and editor at the Sun Journal in Lewiston prior to that.

Gov. Baldacci also announced yesterday a number of other appointments, including naming Senior Policy Adviser Patrick Ende as chief counsel, and several policy adviser positions.
