Hannaford parent cuts six Maine execs

Delhaize America, the parent company of Hannaford Bros. Co. supermarkets, has cut 15 vice president positions, six of which were based in Scarborough.

The trade publication Frozen & Refrigerated Buyer acquired an internal memo about a Delhaize restructuring plan that details a 25% reduction in the company's officer positions. In the memo, new Delhaize America President Roland Smith said the changes are intended to help the company increase efficiency and meet revenue goals.

The Bangor Daily News confirmed that the cuts include six executive positions in Scarborough, with the rest in Salisbury, N.C.
