The Maine Department of Labor is offering free training, starting this month, facilitated by SafetyWorks, to support workplace safety and labor law requirements for the construction industry.
The next class, to be offered Friday, May 9, is Work Zone Safety, which is designed for people who work on public roadways, and will be held at 45 Commerce Drive in Augusta, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A Scaffolding and Fall Protection training is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13 and will be held at Northern Maine Community College, 33 Edgemont Drive in Presque Isle, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
SafetyWorks is offering a full schedule of classes this year, running into December. Details and registration information can be found at the SafetyWorks website.
SafetyWorks is an outreach program of the Maine Department of Labor, focused on reducing job-related injuries and illnesses. SafetyWorks is not affiliated with the Occupation and Safety Health Administration.
