Maine home sales on the rise
Sales of existing single-family homes in Maine increased in September by 6.6% over the same month last year, while the national figure dropped slightly.
Maine home sales reached 1,393 units in September, with 1,307 units having been sold the same month last year, according to new data from the Maine Realtors Association. The median sales price for last month was $175,000, a 1.2% increase over the same period last year.
On a national level, home sales dipped 1.9%, while the median sales price increased 5.9% to $210,300 during the same 12-month period, according to the National Association of Realtors. Sales in the Northeast decreased 1.4%, while the median sales price increased 4.8%.
