Wellness Workdays, a Massachusetts-based provider of corporate wellness programs, has acquired Occupational Medical Consulting LLC, which is based in Leeds.

Occupational Medical Consulting designs and delivers health and wellness programs nationwide and will operate as OMC Wellness, a subsidiary of Wellness Workdays.

Founded in 1996, OMC is known for its wellness program administration, health coaching and proprietary wellness software, according to Wellness Workdays. Its unique and effective approach to behavior change has resulted in established wellness program participation rates well above the national norms.

“OMC provides an exciting opportunity for Wellness Workdays to further enhance and expand its wellness offerings,” said Debra Wein, founder and CEO of Wellness Workdays and CEO of OMC. “The organization shares our common vision related to a high-touch, outcomes-driven approach to wellness, as well as a passion and commitment to promote employee health and well-being. The acquisition brings our proprietary approach to wellness together with OMC's highly trained health coaches to drive better health outcomes and ultimately, healthier employees.”

Wellness Workdays said in its news release that OMC's clients have experienced reductions in behavioral health risks and costs risks, which have been proven to reduce and prevent excess medical spending and insurance premium increases.
