STARC Systems names Aroostook native as CEO

Chris Vickers has been named CEO of STARC Systems, which last week announced it received $3.5 million in outside financing.

Vickers, a native of Caribou, was previously president and CEO of Vermont Country Store in Manchester, Vt.

Starting in 2010, he served as chief merchandising and marketing officer, then took over as president and CEO in February 2013.

Previously, Vickers served as vice president of merchandising at L.L.Bean Inc. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Colby College.

STARC creates temporary wall containment for renovations within health care, education and commercial construction projects. The company, which is based at TechPlace in Brunswick Landing, recently received a $3.5 million infusion of capital in an investment round led by Blue Heron Capital, a growth equity fund based in Richmond, Va., that provides growth and expansion capital.
