Everett, Mass.-based Eagle Bank has opened its first branch in Maine — and sixth overall — in the Hannaford shopping plaza at 65 Portland Road in Kennebunk.
The branch will offer the institution’s full suite of products and services, including deposit products and residential and commercial loans, Marc Whittaker, Eagle Bank's president and CEO, told Mainebiz.
“We’ll have six retail employees working out of the location full-time, as well as residential and commercial lenders that will service existing and prospective new customers," he said. "We are very excited to be part of the Kennebunk community."
Ryan Kelly is joining the branch as senior vice president and chief credit officer and Robert J. Hanson Jr. will serve as senior vice president for commercial banking.
Kelly brings over 20 years of experience in commercial credit and banking. He most recently served in this position at Massachusetts-based Salem Five Bank, where he led a team of underwriters. Kelly is a local resident and in his spare time, is an assistant coach for the Kennebunk High School hockey team.
Hanson has more than 18 years of banking experience, most recently also at Salem Five Bank, where he served as senior vice president for corporate banking. Hanson will be working both in southern Maine and in the greater Boston region.
“The addition of Ryan and Bobby to the bank’s senior management team are important to the bank’s long-term strategic goal of sustained organic growth,” said Whittaker.
In Massachusetts, the 135-year-old institution has five branches: two in Everett and one each in Boston, Lexington and Middleton.
Mainebiz last reported on the bank's expansion into Maine in May.
