Spinnaker Trust hires deputy chief investment officer with a decade of experience

Spinnaker Trust, a Portland-based wealth management firm, has hired Tim Kaijala as vice president and deputy chief investment officer.

In this new role, Kaijala will support the firm's investment strategy. He will focus on both public and private investments. He will also work closely with the firm's client advisors and client service teams to align portfolio construction with client goals and serve as a member of Spinnaker's investment committee.

Kaijala brings more than a decade of experience in investment research and portfolio management, with a specialization in private markets.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, he served as director of private markets and a portfolio manager at H.M. Payson, where he oversaw investment due diligence and led several cross-functional innovation initiatives. He has also been director of investment research at O'Brien Wealth Partners and a portfolio manager at Ropes Wealth Advisors.

He began his investment career in research-focused roles at BrightSphere Investment Group and Fidelity Investments.

The Cumberland resident received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
