Brewer facility celebrates opening
Cianbro Corp. today is celebrating the grand opening of its Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer, which manufactures building modules, or prefabricated, self-standing steel structures.
The plant workers are already constructing modules for Port Arthur, Texa-based Motiva Enterprises, which is in the middle of a $5 billion expansion, according to the Bangor Daily News. Peter Vigue, Cianbro's president, promises that the Brewer facility will employ 500 people.
During the past year, Cianbro has been converting the former Eastern Fine Paper Mill into a modern manufacturing facility. Work began in April, and the structures are scheduled to be shipped this fall, the paper reported.
