Car dealer buys naming rights at Ellsworth theater

A local car dealer has bought the naming rights for a stage at The Grand theater in Ellsworth, helping support the theater’s $1.5 million capital campaign.

The Ellsworth American reported that neither Stanley Subaru nor the theater would disclose financial details of the deal to name the stage after the car dealer. But a brochure for the theater’s capital campaign shows that naming the stage would cost $100,000.

Gail Thompson, The Grand’s executive director, told the newspaper that contributions to the theater’s capital campaign will be used for a number of improvements, including building repairs, lighting and sound upgrades and the installation of a digital projection system.
