ReVision Energy has installed 75 rooftop solar panels on Coast of Maine's plant.
ReVision Energy has just completed the installation of 75 rooftop solar panels at Coast of Maine’s production facility in East Machias.
The 33-kilowatt system will supply 36% of the company’s electricity needs, and is expected to deliver an estimated $218,000 in savings over the lifetime of the installation.
Coast of Maine, founded in 1996, produces organic and naturally sourced soil amendments, compost and mulch for gardeners. It is based in Portland.
The solar array will enable the company to offset 38,000 pounds of carbon emissions annually, the equivalent of charging 4,452 cell phones every day for a year, according to South Portland-based ReVision.
"Partnering with ReVision Energy aligns perfectly with our mission to care for the planet while delivering premium products," said Erik Drake, CEO at Coast of Maine. "This project strengthens our long-term vision to grow sustainably — grow together, and it marks another important milestone in our ongoing journey to build a healthier future for our communities and the environment."
