Chamber appoints temporary leader

The Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce's board of directors still has not explained why it fired Executive Director Claire Adams nearly three weeks ago, but it has found someone to temporarily fill her position.

In a letter sent yesterday to chamber members, the chamber's board of directors said Paul Kelley Jr., the chamber's director of operations and membership services, will handle day-to-day operations at the chamber as the board seeks a new full-time executive director. The letter gives no indication as to why the board dismissed Adams, but says the chamber is "seeking input from the membership to align the future direction of the chamber with member needs."

Calls made to Tammy Kolmosky, the board's president, were not immediately returned.
