JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) has added to its southern Maine footprint with new ranch in the York County town of Sanford, bringing its workforce in the state to 60 total employees.
Located in a former Burger King at 1252 Main St., the new branch is about 3,000 square feet and employs six employees, led by branch manager Julien Soki.
It opened on July 28, becoming Chase's seventh branch in the state.
Chase also has locations in Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth, Saco (in a former Krispy Kreme), Scarborough and Yarmouth.
“Expanding our presence in Maine means actively contributing to local economic growth and providing exceptional financial services to the communities we serve,” Abir Haidar, market director for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, said in a statement emailed to Mainebiz.
“Sanford is a thriving and vibrant community and we look forward to contributing to the town’s community development and bringing all of our capabilities, from banking to lending to wealth management and business formation,” she added.
Chase had had a commercial team on the ground in Maine since 2018 and a retail presence that dates to 2021, when the bank opened a downtown Portland branch at 480 Congress St. near Monument Square.
Over the past seven years, Chase claims to have opened more branches than all of its large bank peers combined and remains on track to meet its goal of 500 new branches by 2027, the bank said in a news release.
JPMorgan Chase, led by CEO Jamie Dimon, has $4.3 trillion in assets under management, according to the company's latest quarterly report.
