The developer of a $45 million shopping center in Freeport yesterday announced commitments from five new tenants, despite the national retail slump.
The retail chains Coach Factory Store, Pac Sun and Sunglass Hut will occupy part of the 120,000-square-foot outlet center, which is being built on the site of the former L.L.Bean factory store. The local gift shop, The Maine Dog, and the restaurant, Linda Bean's Perfect Maine Lobster Roll, will also open locations at the site, according to a press release from Berenson Associates, the Boston-based developer behind the project. The new tenants join previously announced tenants, the L.L.Bean Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Calvin Klein, Van Heusen and Izod.
The center, dubbed Freeport Village Station, is expected to be complete in May 2009, and is expected to include over 30 retailers and restaurants and a free covered parking deck.
