Friday Food Insider: New restaurants, St. Patrick's Day events

Cafe Luna, a smoothie and juice bar in Scarborough, will open a second location, at 267 U.S. Route 1 in Falmouth.

In a social media post, the owners said, “We are beyond thankful for all our amazing customers, vendors, employees, and everyone who has made this possible. We can’t wait to join the Falmouth community and hope you’ll check out our beautiful new location.”

The new cafe is slated to open in May. 

Cafe Luna opened its first location at 370 U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough in January 2024.

Other openings 

  • PhoEver Maine, a Vietnamese restaurant, is moving from Westbrook to Portland. The owners purchased the former Anania's Variety at 1227 Congress St. The restaurant is slated to open this summer.
  • Cargo Pizza Co., a mobile food truck that serves pizza, smash burgers and homemade fried foods, opened its brick-and-mortar location at 1053 Forest Ave. in Portland on Thursday. 
  • LB Kitchen's kiosk in the medical campus at Rock Row in Westbrook is tentatively scheduled to open on March 18, according to Malone Commercial Brokers.
  • The Downtown Social, a new food and drink venue owned and operated by Social Events LLC, will open on April 3 at 128 Free St. in Portland. The venue occupies the building previously home to Dogfish Bar & Grille.

  • Paddy Murphy's, 26 Main St., Bangor.
  • Ryan's Corner House Irish Pub, 17 Western Ave., Kennebunk.
  • Feile Restaurant and Pub , 1619 Post Road, Wells. 

Don’t forget the Irish American Club of Maine’s annual St. Patrick's Parade. The parade starts on Commercial Street beginning at noon on March 16.
