Gawron Turgeon Architects founder retires

After decades in the industry, Stan Gawron retired from Gawron Turgeon Architects in Scarborough at the end of 2023. 

Gawron founded the firm in 1983.

During his time leading the company, it has achieved success in many parts of the industry, in Maine as a whole, and internally among the team that Gawron fostered.

St. Andrews Village, a retirement community in Boothbay Harbor completed in 2000, is a highlight of Stan Gawron’s career.

The firm started as Gawron Architects.

It has since been led by Gawron, Mary Turgeon and Rebecca Dillon as principals and owners. The firm had 16 employees as of 2023.

The mantra of the office is “listen, innovate, design.” 

Services include architectural and interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.

The company’s portfolio is diverse. Highlights of Gawron’s career include:

  • St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor 
  • Eastview at Middlebury in Middlebury, Vt.
  • Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta
