New hires

Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications in Bangor hired Kerrie Tripp as director of tourism and hospitality marketing. Tripp was previously director of the Greater Bangor Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Maine Department of Economic & Community Development’s Office of Business Development hired Shae Horrigan as a business development coordinator. Horrigan was previously a business research associate at the Atlantic Corp. in Waterville.

Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington hired Dawn Elliott as a physician at Franklin Health Women’s Care. Elliott, who is a full-scope OB/GYN provider specializing in high-risk pregnancy, perinatal mood disorders, family planning and infertility, was most recently with Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colo.

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland hired Sarah Shubert as a sports medicine surgeon at Northern Light Mercy Orthopedics. Shubert, who is a physician for the U.S. Ski Team, specializes in shoulder replacement surgery and arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee.

HM Payson, a financial planner in Portland, hired Curtis Jordan as a portfolio manager. Jordan, who has 15 years of portfolio management and leadership experience, was previously a senior vice president at Key Private Bank.

Maine Coast Heritage Trust, a conservation nonprofit in Topsham, hired Kate Stookey as president and CEO. Stookey was most recently executive director at Revels, a national arts and culture nonprofit based in Watertown, Mass.

Girl Scouts of Maine in South Portland hired Jessica Steele as director of camp programs and property and Sarah Davenport as director of Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton.

RE/MAX Shoreline hired Dominic DePatsy as an agent in its Portland and Falmouth offices.

Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care in Brewer hired Elizabeth Stephens as a pediatric oncologist and hematologist. Stephens specializes in pediatric cancer care, clotting disorders and cancer survivorship.

The Woodlands Club in Falmouth hired Bill Barber as director of rackets. Barber was previously director of tennis at the Country Club of Asheville in Asheville, N.C.

Central Maine Growth Council hired Emalee Couture as growth manager for Dirigo Labs, a startup accelerator in Waterville. Couture previously served as an associate officer in the technology licensing office at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology.

bluShift Aerospace in Brunswick hired Aaron Woodall as electro/mechanical assembly technician. Woodall was previously with Boeing.

Knickerbocker Group, a design, construction and property management firm in Boothbay, hired Billy Webbert as job foreman, Daniel Pellerin as assistant project manager and Jess Morse as project interior designer.

OTELCO, a wireline telecommunications company in New Gloucester, hired Dagmar Klosenski as a project manager, Mandee Lincourt as a regional sales manager, Dan Morgan as a senior GIS engineer, Nathan Trask as a senior OSP engineer and Brad LaRou and Chris Wright as OSP level 1 technicians in the company’s Gray office.

Zachau Construction in Freeport hired Austin Moore as a superintendent.

Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice in Lewiston hired Ron Hood as manager of volunteer resources. Hood most recently served as system manager of volunteer services at Central Maine Healthcare.

Promotions

Camden National Bank promoted Joanne Campbell to executive vice president, enterprise risk management and chief risk officer. Campbell was previously executive vice president, risk management.

Geiger, a promotion products distributor in Lewiston, promoted Sam Stewart to program manager in corporate programs and Winter Thatcher key account manager in PSG/corporate programs. Stewart and Thatcher were both previously key customer service specialists.

Katahdin Trust in Houlton promoted Jessica Weeks to assistant vice president, deposit operations manager and Miranda Wotton to assistant vice president, electronic banking manager. Weeks was deposit operations supervisor while Wotton was electronic banking supervisor.

Constant, a fintech SaaS provider of digital loan servicing solutions in Portland, promoted Steve Richards to CFO. Richards was previously controller.

Cross Insurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp. in Bangor, promoted Elizabeth Libby to vice president, brand marketing. Libby, who has been with the company for 22 years, was previously director of partnership marketing.

The John T. Gorman Foundation in Portland promoted Nicole Witherbee to president and CEO. Witherbee previously served as chief program officer for the nonprofit for the past 10 years.

Kennebec Savings Bank in Augusta promoted Michelle Richardson to regional vice president and senior residential lender. Richardson previously served as vice president and director of lending operations.

Appointments

The Maine State Building and Construction Trades Council elected Jason Shedlock as president. Shedlock, who was previously the council’s executive director, is a member of Local 327 of the Laborers’ International Union of North America and a regional organizer for its New England Region Organizing Fund.

Blue Marble Geographics in Hallowell said CEO Patrick Cunningham was appointed to the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service Board of Visitors.

Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park elected Vicki Goldstein and Ivan Fernandez to its board of directors. Goldstein is an author while Fernandez is professor in the School of Forest Resources, Climate Change Institute, and School of Food and Agriculture at the University of Maine.

Achievements

Machias Savings Bank said it was ranked No. 8 out of 90 banks recognized nationally by American Banker in the “Best Banks to Work For” list.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust announced its annual “Brand Behavior Awards,” recognizing employees who contributed to the bank’s success in 2021. Winners included Elise Dufresne and Vreni Gust, “Communication Award;” Terry Tracy and Sarah Trowbridge, “Initiative Award;” Shannon MacLeod and Saxon Tinto, “Positivity Award;” Colleen Paquette and Marcie MacKenzie, “Professionalism Award;” Jenn Abbott and Amanda Hatch, “Quality Award;” and Jessica Benson and Tina Brown, “Teamwork Award.”

AARP Maine in Portland announced that Joyce and Carl Bucciantini were selected as the winners of the “2021 Andrus Award,” honoring those who make a difference in the lives of others. The Bucciantinis are retired educators from Greene.

Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants honored six members during its Rising Up and Recognizing Excellence virtual event. Jodie Heal of Heal Accounting was named “The Forward Thinker;” Eric Purvis, Marcum LLP, “The Wise Sage;” Cheryl Sommer, Albin Randall Bennett, “The Giver;” Andrew Murry, Baker Newman Noyes, “The Engaging Educator;” Marcus Pratt, Runyon Kersteen Ouellette, “The Rising Star;” and Karen Hart, LeBlanc & Young, “The Soaring Flyer.”

Maxim Healthcare Group, a national provider of home health care, companion and behavioral care, healthcare staffing and workforce solutions, named Sharon Verreault as a “Regional Caregiver of the Year.” Verreault is a registered nurse in the firm’s Portland office.

Trillium Engineering Group, a structural/civil/land survey firm in Yarmouth, said David Latham passed the professional engineer exam.

The Woodlands Club in Falmouth said that Paul Piveronas was named the best golf instructor in the state of Maine by Golf Digest.

Knickerbocker Group, a design, construction and property management firm in Boothbay, received a “2021 International Interior Design Association New England Award” in the residential private category for its Stoneview Barn + Spa project in Edgecomb, a 150-year-old salvaged barn and a private-use health and wellness building.

Camden National Bank announced its “2021 Leaders & Luminaries Awardees.” Honorees included Kim Pittman, board chair, Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project, Portland; Shannon Richards, board president, Maine Crafts Association, Gardiner; Pam Dyer Stewart, board member, Women for Healthy Rural Living, Milbridge; and Barbara Wirth, board member, Maine Boys to Men, Portland. In addition, Desiree Tyrrell, board chair for Wabanaki Women’s Coalition in Orono, was named the “2021 Spotlight Award” winner and Kaylee Wolfe, executive director at Speak About It in Portland, was the “2021 Emerging Leader Award” recipient.

Educate Maine in Portland selected the Maine Early Learning Investment Group as its “Weston L. Bonney Education Leadership Award” winner for leadership and commitment to Maine’s youngest learners.

Gov. Janet Mills recognized three Maine businesses as recipients of the “Governor’s Award for Business Excellence.” Acme Monaco Corp. won the “Heritage Industry Award,” Ware-Butler Building Supply received the “Rural Revitalization Award” and ReVision Energy was the “Innovation Award” winner.

Lebel & Harriman, a financial services firm in Falmouth, announced that Nate Moody was recognized by the National Association of Plan Advisors as a “2022 Top U.S. Retirement Plan Advisor under 40.”

Fontaine Family – The Real Estate Leader in Auburn said it was voted “Greater Lewiston/Auburn’s Best Real Estate Company” for the eighth consecutive year in an opinion poll conducted by Market Surveys of America.

The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce named Anne-Marie Storey its “2020-21 Volunteer of the Year Award” winner. Storey is a partner at Rudman Winchell, a law firm in Bangor.
