New hires
Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Jason House as senior vice president, middle market relationship manager. House was previously a regional vice president at TD Bank.
United Insurance hired Victoria Palmer as receptionist/administrative support in Farmington and Brian Weidner as commercial lines account manager in Portland.
Verrill, a law firm in Portland, hired several attorneys who will practice out of the firm’s new Bangor office. Karen Holyoke and Nathaniel Putnam were hired as partners and Alexandra Stanley as an associate in the private clients and fiduciary services group; Casey Olesen and Sarah Reinhart as partners in the real estate group; Matthew Raynes as partner in the labor and employment group as well as lead in the firm’s new immigration group; Michael Hodgins as partner in the construction group; and Edward Feibel as counsel in the employee benefits and executive compensation group.

Promotions
Synergent, a Westbrook-based service bureau for credit unions nationwide, promoted Tyler Hudson to president. Hudson was previously executive vice president.
Acadia Federal Credit Union in Fort Kent promoted Joey Cannan to president and CEO. Cannan previously served as executive vice president.
Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden promoted Bill Pelkey to senior vice president of facilities.

Appointments
The Maine Hospital Association in Augusta elected Steven Littleson as chair of its board of directors. Littleson is president and CEO of Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston. Rounding out the executive committee are Nate Howell, CEO of MaineGeneral Medical Center, board chair-elect; Patrick Taylor, CEO of York Hospital, treasurer; and Randy Clark, president of Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital, secretary. The Finance Authority of Maine in Augusta added Hon. Joseph Perry, state treasurer; Commissioner Michael Duguay, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development; Simon Ferland, director of data systems - student financial services, University of Maine System; and Michael Foley, chief growth officer, senior vice president of support services, Five County Credit Union. Perry and Duguay serve ex-officio by virtue of their state offices, while Ferland and Foley were nominated by Gov. Janet Mills and confirmed by the Legislature.
Camp Sunshine, a nonprofit in Casco serving children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, added Tamara StClaire, chief business transformation officer and president of primary care delivery services at MaineHealth, to its board of directors.
WinterKids, a nonprofit in Westbrook supporting children’s health and outdoor winter learning, added Marnie Grumbach, Brean Witmer and Brent Vanni to its board of directors. Grumbach is founder of Fluent IMC, Witmer is director of research and evaluation at the Great Schools Partnership and Vanni is product development manager at L.L.Bean.

The Greater Portland Board of Realtors awarded “Realtor of the Year” to Glenna Irvine of Chamberlain Realty, “Spirit Award Winner” to Steve Hammond of North Star Realty, “Affiliate of the Year” to Chelsea Torrey of Acadia Lending Group, “YPN Excellence Award” to Tia Morrell of Landing Real Estate and the “Leanne Barschdorf Nichols Visionary Leadership Award” to Paul McKee of Keller Williams Realty Maine.
Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty in Portland said that RealTrends recognized 25 of its top performing agents in its “2025 America’s Best Real Estate Professionals” state rankings. In addition, Linda MacDonald Associates and Heather Shields were listed as the top two small teams by volume in Maine.
Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden said it was included on the Forbes list of “America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2025.”
CORE, a commercial real estate broker in Portland, said Andre Rossignol received a “New England Real Estate Journal Ones to Watch/Rising Stars” spotlight award and Josh Soley received the annual “CoStar Power Broker” award for 2024.
Malone Commercial Brokers in Portland announced that Mark Malone, vice president and principal, was named a “2024 Top Office Leasing Broker Award” winner and that the firm captured a “2024 Top Sales Firm” award from CoStar, an online listing database.
Maine Hospital Association in Augusta announced that Karin Cole, a surgical oncologist at Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, was named the “Maine Hospital Association 2025 Caregiver of the Year.”
KidsPeace, a private charity based in Schnecksville, Pa. with numerous Maine locations dedicated to serving the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families and communities, said that it captured three “Gold Awards” at the 42nd Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards as well as a “Silver Award” and a “Bronze Award” at the Telly Awards, a national competition for video and television productions.
Great Falls Construction in Gorham said that Aaron Bourassa, senior project manager, is celebrating his 20th anniversary with the company. Bourassa has led nearly 300 projects of all scopes and sizes in that time.
