Portland Jetport to receive $2.5M federal grant

The Portland International Jetport is receiving a $2.5 million federal grant for the rehabilitation of the airport’s general aviation apron.

U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree announced the funding from the Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday. The project will involve rehabilitation work on 56,750 square yards of pavement that has reached the end of its lifespan.

“Portland Jetport is a critical transportation gateway for our state, serving everything from major airlines to hundreds of small private aircraft,” Pingree said in a prepared statement.  “I’m glad the airport will receive this federal investment to keep its infrastructure in good working order.”
