The owner of Rize CoWorking and Collaboration Space in downtown Bangor, has bought the building at 735 Main St. that has housed the venture for the past three years. The purchase price was $600,000.
Rize, formerly known as CoVort, is a hub for remote workers, entrepreneurs and small businesses. Members include the Maine Connectivity Authority and JMD Plumbing, according to Rize’s website.
Owner Ashleigh Briggs said she reimagined the space in 2021 as an inclusive, community-driven workplace.
“Rize has become a dynamic gathering point for professionals seeking flexible workspace, valuable connections and opportunities for collaboration,” she noted.
“This purchase represents more than just a real estate transaction — it’s an investment in the future of the Bangor region,” Briggs said. “We believe in the power of community, and this milestone allows us to deepen our roots and expand the impact we can make.”
Rize offers a range of memberships, including day passes, monthly and long-term. The space includes a 900-square-foot community room, private offices, conference rooms and rental opportunities for events.
Briggs said she plans to further enhance the space and increase programming “to continue fostering relationships that support Maine’s entrepreneurs, creatives and remote professionals.”
Briggs purchased the 5,027-square-foot building through a lease-to-own agreement. Eastern Maine Development Corp. and Acadia Federal Credit Union facilitated the transaction.
Rize occupies the main floor, and there’s a second-floor apartment. On-site parking can accommodate 60 vehicles on the 1.74-acre property.
