Trio of duplexes coming to Hancock

Donald Lagrange, the town manager and code enforcement officer of Southwest Harbor, said the need for rental housing in the Hancock-area has led to the upcoming construction of three duplexes off Route 1 in the Downeast Maine town.

The Ellsworth American reported that in addition to the trio of duplexes, which will each house two, one-bedroom apartments, Lagrange will add a one-bedroom apartment at a property adjacent to the future site of the duplexes that was once home to the Country Rose novelty shop.

Lagrange, who also owns eight other apartments for which he has been able to find tenants, told the American that construction of the duplexes will begin once financing has been finalized for the project.
