UMS trustees vote to relocate University College Bath/Brunswick

The University of Maine System’s board of trustees voted Monday to move the University College Bath/Brunswick from its current location in Bath to Brunswick Landing, where Southern Maine Community College also has a campus.

Both schools plan to move out of their shared space in Bath in June, the Bangor Daily News reported.

The newspaper reported that University College plans to spend approximately $300,000 to renovate its new home in the Orion Building at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, a location that is expected to cut the college’s rent and maintenance costs by half.

One of several outreach centers operated by the University of Maine System, University College Bath/Brunswick currently serves about 350 students.
