Sanford NetFiber, a 45-mile fiber optic network designed to serve the city’s municipal buildings, downtown mill complex, industrial parks and more than 80 other locations, is now under construction.

According to information on the growth council’s website, the network is designed to spur economic development, including job creation and investment. It will be the largest municipal network in Maine. The project was developed by the growth council.
