Good Shepherd Food Bank and the statewide network of 600 hunger-relief partner organizations are working toward a bold goal: everyone in Maine is food secure.
Hunger rates are at a nearly 10-year high and continue to grow. Due to reductions in federal funding, Maine could lose more than 20 million meals annually by 2028, putting enormous strain on local food pantries and communities.
In the year ahead, we will continue to distribute millions of meals while supporting local farms, advocating for long-term solutions, and strengthening the charitable food network.
We cannot do this work alone. With the help of donors, volunteers, and community members, we can ensure that nutritious food remains within reach for everyone in our state, while building a future where everyone in Maine has the food they need to live a full and healthy life.
