• Invest in Our Workforce: The SeniorsPlus workforce is its greatest asset and its primary service delivery method. We strive to be a leader in the community-based organizations through pay, benefits and a supportive and growth-based environment.
• Deliver Quality Programming: SeniorsPlus seeks to ensure that our services are delivered with integrity, relevance to meet needs, and that they undergo quality assurance review.
• Outreach: SeniorsPlus is consistently seeking opportunities for growth and refinement of service activities to meet the needs of a growing diverse population and service environment.
• Lewiston Campus Expansion: SeniorsPlus will consolidate its facilities to the main campus at Falcon Road through the acquisition of land and construction of a multipurpose building that will allow for expansion of the Nutrition Services kitchen/programs and the education/convening center.
• Aging Awareness: SeniorsPlus is committed to being a leader in the anti-ageism movement in Maine. Ageism has no place in Maine and we will work to ensure it is addressed through public policy and influence
SeniorsPlus has a Fill the Plate Breakfast fundraiser in March to support Meals on Wheels. Sponsorship and attendance opportunities are available.
A Capital Campaign is underway to fund our new Encompass Education and Nutrition Center in Lewiston. SeniorsPlus is building for its future with The Encompass Center. As a site for a new Meals on Wheels kitchen, packing and distribution center, along with direct services, a hub for information, education, and social connection, this $6.54 million facility prepares SeniorsPlus to evolve alongside the needs of the older adults and adults with disabilities we proudly serve in Western Maine. We are $3.6 million toward our goal and are actively seeking donations and naming opportunities for the new center.
Along with the opportunities listed above, SeniorsPlus conducts an annual appeal each fall. We also seek corporate donations to help us provide the local match required by our federal funding.
There is a myriad of volunteer opportunities at SeniorsPlus. Whether it be an ongoing or one day experience, we welcome and embrace volunteerism. We have a need for volunteer kitchen assistance, packing and meal delivery. We also use volunteers to host our social dining sites, provide administrative support, serve on our board and committees as well as assist with fundraising activities.
